Tristin Nguyen D.D.S
Owner – General Dentist
Dr. Tristin brings both a rigorous clinical foundation and a personal connection to this practice: after earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and completing an advanced general practice residency at NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, where he built a strong foundation in comprehensive, everyday dentistry and developed real depth in implant dentistry, he returned home to lead the practice his mother, Dr. Linhdai Truong, built over two decades — honoring that foundation of family-first care while bringing his own advanced training and standards to every appointment.
Dr. Tristin is Spear-trained in advanced cosmetic dentistry, using Facially Generated Treatment Planning (FGTP) — a whole-face approach to diagnosing and sequencing treatment, rather than addressing individual teeth in isolation. Every exam starts with a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth, bite, and smile as a whole system — and everything we find is shared directly with you, in plain terms, so you have the full picture before deciding what, if anything, you want to do next.

Loc Tran D.D.S
Associate – General Dentist
Dr. Loc Tran has been a trusted associate at Smiley Dental Care since its founding in 2000, working alongside Dr. Linhdai Truong. Known for his gentle demeanor and compassionate care, Dr. Tran has built a loyal patient base who value his calm approach and dedication to their comfort. A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, he offers a wide range of dental services while always prioritizing patient well-being. Dr. Tran’s commitment to personalized, high-quality care has made him a key part of Smiley Dental Care for over two decades.

Caroline Chun D.D.S
Associate – Pediatric Dentist
Originally from Houston, TX, Dr. Caroline Chun earned her undergraduate degree from NYU in just three years before continuing her dental education at NYU College of Dentistry. She completed a general practice residency, followed by a specialized pediatric dental residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY — receiving advanced training in treating children of all ages, including those with complex medical conditions and special healthcare needs. She is board-eligible and sitting for her pediatric dental boards this October.
Dr. Chun has a natural ability to connect with kids and ease their fears, turning dental visits into calm, even fun experiences rather than something to dread. She believes early, gentle care builds not just healthy teeth but real confidence — and she takes the time to explain every step clearly to both children and parents, so nothing feels like a surprise walking in.
Parents trust Dr. Chun for her warmth, patience, and her ability to help even the most nervous first-time patients leave with a big, bright smile — treating every child with the same care she’d want for her own family.
Kaylie Nguyen D.D.S, M.S
Associate – Periodontist
A Maryland resident since 2010, Dr. Kaylie Nguyen brings both rigorous clinical training and a genuine commitment to preserving your natural smile. She earned dual degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery and a residency in Periodontics, both completed at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Dr. Nguyen’s approach centers on early diagnosis and personalized treatment planning — helping patients preserve their natural teeth and long-term periodontal health whenever possible, rather than defaulting to more invasive options. From non-surgical therapy to periodontal surgery, regenerative procedures, and implant-related care, every treatment plan is explained clearly so you understand your options and feel confident in your decisions, not just told what’s next.
Fluent in both Vietnamese and English, Dr. Nguyen takes the time to build real relationships with her patients. Outside the practice, she enjoys cooking, exploring new cuisines, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Linhdai Truong D.D.S
Founder (retired) – General Dentist
Dr. Linhdai Truong, the founder of Smiley Dental Care, established the practice in 2000 with the goal of creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment where patients feel truly at ease. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Dr. Truong brings over two decades of experience and a commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. She is proud to have her son, Dr. Tristin Nguyen, join her practice, continuing the family legacy of exceptional dental care. At Smiley Dental Care, Dr. Truong and her team are dedicated to providing personalized, gentle treatment that makes every patient feel like part of the family.
